Recycled Materials

Ties That Matter proudly uses recycled materials as the foundation for all our products. We don’t throw away anything! Leftover pieces of neckties are used to make crazy-quilt patterned pillow tops. Threads, interfacing and other scraps from ties are used to stuff pillows, allowing us to be a zero-waste organization.

Our reusable grocery bags enable others to recycle as well, providing a great alternative to paper or plastic shopping bags.

We also spearhead related volunteer activities. The company works with elementary school children to collect their dad’s used neckties, as well as with a variety of business to sponsor “Toss Your Tie” collection events.

Many people think of a necktie is part of a business uniform, but to us it’s inspirational. Behind these creative products is a company that provides paying jobs to unemployed women, creates zero-waste, uses recycled materials and contributes a portion of the proceeds to support homeless causes.
